What is a giclee?
Giclee is a French word pronounced (Zhee CLAY) meaning "to spray". Finest fade resistant (archival) pigments are sprayed on to non-yellowing quality substrates such as heavy canvas or watercolor paper. This process is done on large high resolution, color accurate printers. Artists proofs are produced for each giclee which I personally examine for accuracy of all hues and tonalities of the original work. After printing, the canvases are finished with a UV coating.
Why do I enhance a giclee?
|
As an artist, I often retouch a giclee with acrylic paint and a brush. As a result, no two pieces are identical. This enhancement is especially effective when the original piece incorporates metallic paint. Every piece is hand signed and UV varnished. The giclee prints are available Image Wrapped Gallery Stretched for a frameless presentation. You may also order them on ready to mount canvas or bonded to a backing. What are advantages of a giclee?
